Terms of Service
Last updated October 27, 2026
These terms cover your use of DBGkit (the "Service"), operated by DBGkit ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the company you sign up ("your company").
1. The Service
DBGkit is a set of web-based business tools for elevator contractors, including service and invoicing, maintenance agreements, prospecting, and equipment-sizing tools. Some tools are marked "rolling out" or "coming soon" and may change. During the founding-member beta (through January 1, 2027), features may change and occasional interruptions are possible while we improve the Service.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your company's accounts.
- The account owner controls who is invited to your company's workspace and their roles. Seats are limited by your plan.
- Tell us right away at info@dbgkit.com if you think an account has been accessed without permission.
3. Membership, billing and cancellation
- Plans are billed monthly in advance, in U.S. dollars, through our payment processor (Stripe). Prices are shown on dbgkit.com.
- Memberships renew month to month until canceled. You can cancel anytime; your plan stays active through the end of the paid month. We don't issue partial-month refunds.
- If a payment fails, we'll let you know. If it isn't resolved, access may be paused until it is. Your data is kept during a pause.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of your plan.
4. Your data
- Everything your company enters — customers, buildings, units, estimates, invoices, pricing and employee records — belongs to your company. We don't claim ownership of it.
- You give us permission to store and process your data only as needed to run, secure, back up and support the Service.
- Each company's data is kept separate from every other company's. We never sell your data or share it with other members.
- You can ask for a full export of your company's data at any time, including after you cancel. We keep a canceled company's data for 90 days so you can come back or take a copy, then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, to access another company's data, to interfere with the Service or its security, to resell it without our permission, or to copy or reverse-engineer its tools.
6. Professional responsibility
Calculations, sizing results, code references and document templates are tools to support your work, not engineering, legal or code-compliance advice. You remain responsible for verifying results, following the applicable elevator codes and manufacturer requirements, and the work you perform and the documents you send.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and backed up, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or retire features; if we retire a tool that is a main part of your plan, we'll tell you in advance.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is," and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount your company paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages such as lost profits or lost business.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service and cancel anytime. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, and we'll give notice where reasonably possible.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where DBGkit is organized. If we update them, we'll post the new version here and, for important changes, email account owners before they take effect.
